Quick answer

How are respondent confirmations sent?

Reuily sends them by default when respondent confirmation is enabled on a form. Organization owners can instead configure and test their own SMTP server in Email delivery settings.

Turn on respondent confirmations

Add an email field to your form, then open the form's Settings and turn on Respondent confirmation. Select the email field to receive the message if your form has more than one.

Choose your sending method

Reuily email works without extra setup. To use your own mail provider, an organization owner can enter SMTP credentials and a sender address accepted by your SMTP provider in Email delivery settings, then send a test email to activate it. Your provider's limits and delivery rules apply to custom SMTP sends.

Reuily limits and fair use

The default fair use policy (FUP) allows 5,000 Reuily-sent confirmation attempts per organization each monthly usage period. Your organization may have a custom limit. In a form's Settings, the Respondent email alert cap shows the remaining allowance and reset date. Email delivery settings shows organization-wide usage.

One attempt is counted when Reuily first tries to send a confirmation for an eligible submission. Failed sends and sends whose acceptance cannot be confirmed still count. Retries for the same submission do not use another attempt. Custom SMTP sends do not use the Reuily allowance.

At the limit, Reuily pauses new confirmations until the allowance resets. Forms continue accepting and saving submissions, and any enabled submission alerts to form owners continue. Confirmations skipped at the limit are not sent later.
