## Key points

- Conditional logic changes what a form shows based on each answer. It is also called branching logic, skip logic or a logic jump.
- A Reuily form can have several Thank You pages, called endings. Flow rules pick one from each person's answers, and the first ending is the default.
- Each rule looks at one answer and either skips ahead or ends the form on the Thank You page you choose. Reuily uses the first rule that matches.
- Answers are saved before any Thank You page shows, and website buttons only appear on endings, so nobody leaves halfway through a form.

Not everyone who fills in your form should see the same last page, and conditional logic makes that possible.

A lead from your main market might be ready to book a call, while someone outside it only needs a note about when you will reply. This guide shows you how to set that up in Reuily, step by step.

## What is a conditional logic form?

A conditional logic form changes what each person sees based on their answers. Questions can appear or stay hidden, whole pages can be skipped, and the form can end in different places. Instead of one long form for everyone, each person gets a shorter path that fits them.

### Conditional logic examples

- **Lead qualification.** Send people who are ready to buy to a booking page, and thank everyone else.
- **Support triage.** Point billing questions and technical issues to different next steps.
- **Job applications.** Ask follow-up questions only of people who say they hold a licence or certificate.
- **Event sign-ups.** Show each attendee the details for the session they picked.
- **Customer feedback.** Ask unhappy customers what went wrong, as in this [NPS survey guide](https://reuily.com/blog/net-promoter-score-nps-survey).

## How endings work in Reuily

An ending is a Thank You page. Each one has its own heading, text and design, and can include a website button, such as a link to your calendar or a download.

Your endings sit at the bottom of the page list, and the first one is your **Default ending**. Anyone who doesn't match a rule finishes there, so nobody is left without a thank you.

The **Flows** tab shows every path at a glance.

In this contact form, "How can we help?" sends Sales to a page with a booking link, Support to a page with a link to your help pages, and everyone else to the default thank you.

![Reuily Flows tab with the grey and green dots under How can we help? Sales and Support get their own Thank You pages, and everyone else the default](https://reuily.com/blog/conditional-logic-thank-you-pages/flows-multiple-thank-you-pages.png "One question, three Thank You pages.")

Each question page on the map has two dots at the bottom of its card:

- **Green dot:** drag it to a later page or an ending, then pick the answer that sends people there.
- **Grey dot:** drag it to where everyone else should go next.

You can also move, rename or delete any ending on the map. Your form always keeps at least one.

## How conditional logic rules work in Reuily

In Reuily, conditional logic lives in the **Flows** tab of the builder. You add rules to a page, and each rule looks at one answer. When the answer matches, the rule does one of two things:

- **Go to a later page.** Skip ahead to any page that comes after this one.
- **Finish and show an ending.** Save the answers and show the Thank You page you pick, or your default ending if you don't pick one.

Reuily checks a page's rules from top to bottom and uses the first one that matches. Anyone who matches none follows your **Everyone else** setting, which sends them to the next page unless you choose somewhere else.

> [!TIP]
> Put your most specific rules at the top. Reuily uses the first rule that matches, so a general rule placed first would catch everyone before a specific one gets a chance.

The conditions you can choose depend on the type of question:

| Question type | Conditions |
| --- | --- |
| Single choice | Is, Is not, Is answered, Anything (always) |
| Multiple choice | Includes, Does not include, Is answered, Anything (always) |
| Rating, opinion scale and NPS | Is, Is not, Is more than, Is less than, Is answered, Anything (always) |
| Text, number and other typed answers | Is exactly, Is not, Includes the words, Is more than, Is less than, Is filled in, Anything (always) |

Numbers work the way you would expect, so 10 counts as more than 9, and typed answers match whether people use capital letters or not.

## When people type their own answer

Choice questions can include an **Other** option, where people type their own answer. To give those people their own path, pick **Other (their own answer)** in a rule.

For example, a country question that lists France and Germany can send everyone who types a different country to a Thank You page written for international customers.

Without a rule like that, typed answers simply follow your **Everyone else** setting, so nobody gets stuck.

## Answers are saved before any Thank You page shows

People can't leave your form halfway through. Rules only move people to another page or to a Thank You page, and website buttons only appear on Thank You pages.

So by the time anyone sees a link to your calendar or website, their answers are already saved in your responses.

## Example: send UK leads to a booking page

Say your contact form asks for a country and offers a call to people in the UK.

1. Add a second ending called "Book your UK call", with a website button that links to your booking page.
2. In the **Flows** tab, add a rule to the page with the country question: when Country **Is** United Kingdom, finish and show "Book your UK call".
3. Leave your original Thank You page as the default ending for everyone else.

![Flows rule in Reuily: if Country is United Kingdom, finish and show Book your UK call. Everyone else sees Thanks for your answers](https://reuily.com/blog/conditional-logic-thank-you-pages/flows-rule-finish-and-show-ending.png "The rule from this example, as it appears in the builder.")

People in the UK finish on the booking ending. Everyone else sees your standard thank you. Both groups' answers arrive in the same responses table, and you can send them on to [Google Sheets or a webhook](https://reuily.com/help/integrations).

## Best practices for conditional logic forms

- **Keep each path short.** Ask only what you need for that person's path, and let rules skip the rest.
- **Name your endings clearly.** Rules read as sentences, such as "finish and show Book your UK call", so a clear name makes every rule easy to check.
- **Write a useful default ending.** Some answers will match no rule. The default ending should still tell those people what happens next.
- **Check your form's map in Flows.** Every rule appears as a line to where it sends people, so a missing path is easy to spot.

## Add conditional logic to your form

[Open any form](https://reuily.com/forms) in the builder, add a Thank You Page as a new ending, then open the **Flows** tab and add a rule to the page that asks the deciding question.

Reuily is a free form builder with conditional logic on every plan, and multiple endings are included too.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is a conditional logic form?

A conditional logic form changes what people see based on their answers. It can skip questions that do not apply, send people down different paths, and end on a different Thank You page. It is also called branching logic or skip logic.

### What is the difference between skip logic and branching logic?

The terms are often used for the same thing. Skip logic usually means jumping past questions that do not apply, and branching logic means sending people down different paths. In Reuily, one flow rule can do either. It can skip to a later page or finish the form on a chosen ending.

### Can a form show a different Thank You page based on answers?

Yes. Add more than one ending, then add a flow rule that finishes the form and shows the ending you choose. People whose answers match no rule see the default ending.

### How many endings can a Reuily form have?

A form can have as many endings as you need, and it always keeps at least one. The first ending in the page list is the default ending, which people see when no rule picks a different one.

### Can a flow rule send someone to another website?

Not in the middle of a form. A rule can only go to a later page or finish the form. To send people to a booking page or a download, add a website button to one of your endings. It appears after the answers are saved.

### Is conditional logic included on the Free plan?

Yes. Conditional logic, which Reuily calls Flows, is part of the Free plan with multiple endings, unlimited forms and unlimited responses.
